General Rules of the
1er ACIM -
AZTECA Concurso Internacional de Música

The first ACIM - AZTECA Concurso Internacional de Música aims to promote the music internationally without geographical limits.

​

The competition is open to all instruments,singers,composers,electronic multidisciplinary artists and music groups without age limits.

​

The preparation of the entire competition as well as its development is entirely online. We consider that current technology allows us to properly manage our contest system, thus avoiding travel costs for participants, parents or teachers.

Eligibility

All musicians are welcome to apply. The ACIM- AZTECA Concurso Internacional de Música 2024 and the jurors will carefully review submissions individually and without regard for age, nationality, gender, or musical style.

Instruments

All instruments are welcome, classical and traditional.

Singers.

All groups and ensembles.

Composers.

Electronic and multidisciplinary artists.

Dates

Application NEW deadline: May,31. 2024

Results will be published in this website on 12th June ,2024

Diplomas will be sent during the next 10 days after the results will be published to each competitor e-mail.

The production of the CD in digital online format will be during the two months following the publication of the results of the competition. Participants will receive an e-mail with the notification.

Repertoire

There is no specific repertoire required to participate in this competition. Each performer has the freedom to determine which piece to perform. The selected piece could be drawn from a standard repertoire, composed by a living composer, or an original work by the performer. Extracts are not allowed. Movements of sonatas or concertos are allowed. The chosen piece will not affect the jury’s decision-making process. Singers may choose repertoire in any language.Only 1 piece is allowed. The maximum duration is 10 minutes for all categories.

The following section lists the characteristics of the jury, its regulations on behavior and its evaluation criteria for the contestants, as well as the rules for correct scoring.

The jury's regulations will be based solely on the following rules:

​

Article Nr.1

Constitution, number and schedule of Jury members of competition disciplines and categories will be selected by Assembly of the 1er ACIM - AZTECA Concurso Internacional de Música on the proposition of experts committee.

 

Article Nr.2

Jury members will be selected out of renowned music educators, as well as performing artists, conductors,composers and chamber musicians.

Article Nr.3

Jury is consisted of at least 8 members. The names of the jury will be kept strictly private throughout the duration of the contest to avoid internal interference or manipulation by the outside regarding the criteria of their decisions. In the same way, the members of the jury will not be able to maintain contact with each other to deliberate decisions. The opinions and criteria are exclusively individual. They will only contact the Presidency or Secretary of the competition to resolve technical incidents or issues related to the correct execution of their work.

Article Nr.4

No member of the Jury is paid for their collaboration in the contest and no type of compensation, whether material or external, will be permitted.

We want to maintain fairness in the criteria and we appeal to our privacy policy for the proper performance of its functions.

Article Nr.5

President of the Jury is obligated, after obtaining final list of sum points from jury members for particular competition category, to check if evaluation from each member has been carried out according to the Rules on the work of Jury and, in cases of discrepancy, i.e. if president finds irregularities, to timely intervene.

​

Article Nr.6

Jury members evaluate participants with points, from 50 to 100. Jury member will send individual electronic point list onto official e-mail address of the Organizer after finishing of evaluation of competition category.

​

Article Nr.7

It is allowed to exceed the time of competitive video recording in all categories up to one minute. If the time exceeds one minute, the jury will coordinate its actions with the organizer.

​

Article Nr.8

For the premier performance or performance of non-catalogued composition, it is necessary to deliver music scores of such composition using electronic mail.

​

Article Nr.9

Jury member does not evaluate the candidate whom he is relative with, or if there is relation teacher – pupil. Instead jury member, such candidate will be evaluated by his associate.

​

Article Nr.10

Competitors are qualified according to the average grade point of evaluations by the Jury. Number of awards (prizes) is not limited.

Article Nr.11

The parameters that the judges must evaluate with each contestant are the following two:

​

1.- Musicality.Artistic understanding of the work and personal execution.

2.- Technique.Quality of interpretation and vision consistent with the musical work.

​

For composers and music producers.The parameter of creativity and the use of instrumentation is added.


The scoring scale must be between 00 and 100 points for each of the parameters. The jury will present both ( or three )scores to the contest secretariat.

Jury decisions are final and irrevocable.

A. Solo performers under the age of 13 (born in and before 2010)

B. Solo performers under the age of 16 (born in or between 2007-2009)

C. Solo performers under the age of 21 (born in or between 2002-2006)

D. Solo performers over the age of 21 (born in or before 2001)

E. Small ensembles (fewer than 9 performers)

F. Large ensembles/orchestras/choirs (more than 9 performers)

COMPOSITION CATEGORY

With audio or video submission

G. Composers under the age of 21 (born in or after 2002)

H. Composers over the age of 21 (born in or before 2001)

I. Electronic or multidisciplinary works

J. Film/Video Game/Animation Music

K. Arrangements of pre-existing works

L. Improvisation (any genre and instrumentation)

Recording requirements

It is not necessary to record in a studio. Please use the best available technology you have available. 

The recordings must be public links in YOUTUBE for all categories.


Videos may be live recordings of concerts.
 
Videos may have been submitted to other competitions in the past.

Each video may contain only one piece. Videos containing multiple pieces must be split and uploaded as separate entries.


 

Submission fees

Participants may apply for multiple categories with the same or different works.
 

For each category, participants can submit as many applications as they wish.

There is no limit to the number of videos or compositions you may submit for the competition. Each submission will be reviewed carefully and independently.

 

A separate submission fee should be paid for each entry.
